A perfect fit and fix!, Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Sony KDF-E60A20 KDFE60A20 Lamp with Housing XL2200 (Electronics) Bought this particular lamp and housing because 1) next day shipping was offered (and at a reasonable fee) and 2) the Phillips light is the OEM light Sony had in my TV. I know there are cheaper replacement lamps out there, but there are not better lamps out there.This was my first fix for this TV purchased new in 2005, though the lamp was going on and off for a while. Until recently it was a small bother (TV would go dark for 15-20 seconds ever few hours). Recently it was a few times per hour - way too frequently to enjoy the TV in any capacity. Lamp arrived next day as promised, replacement was VERY EASY - takes maybe 10-15 minutes. NO NEED to hire a professional, even if you know nothing about electronics - this package came with instructions and a hex key/wrench to unscrew the old and screw in the new. It's the one you want since the Sony bulb is too expensive and the OSRAM equivalent simply isn't nearly as good. Don't be fooled. Bulb comes in the Philips box as illustrated. Look on the back of the bulb reflector to ensure that it doesn't say Made in China or OSRAM and you'll be happy. Can't imagine why they used a hex screw with a tiny hex wrench to install instead of a simple philips screw like everybody else does. The wrench is too short and makes the job of securing far more difficult than it needs to be. A long screw driver would be easy...if only it used a screw instead. If the bulb lasts, it may be worth the hassle since you only replace every couple years, but I'll definitely look for one with a screw next time. Just an unnecessary hassle that could so easily be remedied. |
