Anyone shopping for a display based on having a feature list you can rattle off against your friends shouldn't be looking at this display as there's plenty of Dell grade displays that will give you all that.If you're a serious professional designer, photographer, or in the print pre-press area where color accuracy and control is critical this is your display. This is especially an important display for you if you're constantly having to work within different color gamuts as the display allows you to switch between AdobeRGB, sRGB, and the native full gamut all via the front panel. My previous monitor, a Dell WP2407, was good, but I often found, even after calibration, that the prints weren't "up to snuff". This monitor, the NEC PA271-bk, is giving me the professional results I need. Combined with the Spectra View 2 calibration software and puck, I now feel confident when I hit the print button that "what I see" is what I'll get. Additionally, the clarity of the picture at 2560X1440 is awesome, making working in Photoshop CS5 Adobe Photoshop CS5 much easier. |
