I have a Samsung 50" DLP monitor that I purchased in 2006. Since it had no built-in receiver I purchased a Samsung HD set top box for local channels (I cannot get cable at my location and satellite reception is impractical due to tree coverage). After 5 years the Samsung STB became unserviceable and a new STB was needed. I purchased a ePVision PHD-205 but the signal was not as clear as the Samsung receiver, so I returned it and upgraded to the PHD-8VX and have been pleased with the reception, picture quality, versatility and ease of use. The initial scan required about 5 minutes and I now receive all the Atlanta area channels that are available and a few from Chattanooga, TN using an outside antenna I purchased from Lowe's in conjunction with a signal amp from Radio Shack. Those channels I did not want to view were easily de-selected and can be added at a later date if I so choose without re-scanning. I can...
