It refused to actually give up completely, so I finally bit the bullet and bought a new one. I opted to buy just the lamp and save a few bucks over buying the whole housing. I definitely recommend doing so, as long as you can work a phillips screwdriver and a wrench, it's easy to replace. This Philips bulb from Samsung Parts is exactly as described and is the same as the original bulb that came with the TV. This is NOT an OEM equivalent, this is straight up OEM, which was my main reason for purchasing just the lamp. Most sellers never state what lamp you get if you purchase the whole XL2400 housing.Seller shipped the item very next day and it arrived two days later, just in time for the weekend. Installation was easy and took less than 20 mins. which involved removing the old bulb from the case/housing, installing the new bulb, and installing it in the side of my television. After installation, the picture was very bright and brilliant. I did not realize how much the tv's picture quality had faded over time. Nevertheless, after just FOUR (4) months, the tv began blinking off and I would have to turn it off and let the bulb cool, before turning it on again in about 3-5 mins. Finally, after dealing with this for another three months, the bulb finally gave out. The disappointment of having this bulb for only a total of seven months is crazy! THIS BULB ONLY LASTED 7 MONTHS, 4 MONTHS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! I will be trying another company for my next bulb and let you know how that works out. To be continued... Bought the Philips XL-2400 lamp from Projector Nova LLC for my Sony KDF-E50A10 TV. Item was shipped by Amazon and arrived a week later. Watched the You Tube video on how to install the bulb before starting the task. Installation went w/o any issue. New lamp works fine. Reset the lamp time to zero and hope it'll be good for at least another 5 years. |
