With virtually every cell phone, ipod, Nintendo DS, and just about everything else that can fit in your pocket being able to take pictures and video, the feature that makes this camcorder stand out is the projector. Therefore, the question is whether having a projector in this makes it something you want to buy.General Thoughts ---------------- Before I cover the projector, let me say a bit about the other features. As for it's video and picture taking quality, both were fairly decent - on par with my iPhone, though it has a slightly less wide angle lens. I'm not sure why it lists 1x optical lens, since that essentially means there is no optical zoom. It also has an LED light for assisting with video and flash in low light. However, there's a clear plastic cover that sits over the lens and LED light to protect them from damage. The problem here, though is that light from the LED creates a glare into the lens, and really detracts from the resulting... OVERVIEW:The 3M CP45B Camcorder Projector does exactly what it says on the box, offering an easy to hold device that can fit in a purse or backpack but yet something that's capable of recording video clips, and PROJECTING those same videos back on the wall or designated projection area due to it's built-in projector. POSITIVES: The 3M CP45B Camcorder Projector is bigger than a FLIP recorder, but that should be expected given that the CP45B has a built in projector. The CP45B also is heavier than most handheld video recording devices, but again, this is due to the built in projector. Build quality is good, and the touch button interface works as expected and consistent with other electronic products of this type (FLIP for example). Where the 3M CP45B Camcorder Projector stands out from the rest of the crowd is the fact that it has a built-in projector. This just arrived 5 minutes ago. I have not even read the book or charged this camera. I will upload a TON of video from this on my YouTube site that will allow you to see the quality (or lack of quality) far better than Amazon allows given its limits. I need to say that to just open the outer package Amazon surrounds this with was my first WONDERFUL surprise. You are greeted with a beautiful presentation of a very heavy duty white box which is something you just need to see for yourself. Very high end. Open it and you now begin to have a clue as to what you are in for. You see the camera in a special cut out slot and as you begin to explore, you see the most organized package ever. I am 62 years old and this is just NICE! Next you see a CD/DVD and a THICK NICE Manual with a color picture on the front. Over 1/4 inch thick and in every language you will need.
